The description is not the product
A sleep programme is usually sold in one sentence. That sentence is almost never wrong — it is simply compatible with several very different products, which is a different problem and a harder one to notice.
The way through it is not scepticism. It is knowing which five fields vary, and asking about those.
What varies
In the records we hold, programmes described as sleep programmes differ along these lines more than any others.
- Whether the evening schedule is fixed or advisory
- Whether measurement is included, and whether anyone reviews it
- Whether the room is part of the programme or simply where you sleep
- Whether a named practitioner is attached, or supervision is unstated
- Whether anything continues after you leave
What to ask before booking
Each of these has a short factual answer. A provider who cannot give one is telling you something useful.
- What time does the evening programme end, and is that every day?
- Is any sleep measurement included in the price?
- Who reads the results, and what are their qualifications?
- Which nights are included — does the price cover arrival and departure?
- Is there any follow-up, and is it charged separately?
