How we verify
Every programme record carries a dated note of what we checked and what we did not. That note is the whole of our claim. We do not put a badge on anything.
Why there is no verified badge
A badge compresses a lot of separate judgements into one mark and asks you to trust it. In this category those marks are everywhere and they mean very different things, which makes them worth close to nothing.
So we show the working instead: the date, the person, the method, what was established, and what was left alone. It takes more space than a tick. It is also the only version you can actually check.
What we check
- Provider identity
- That the legal entity operating the programme exists and is registered to trade.
- Programme contents
- What is included, checked against a signed specification or written confirmation rather than a web page.
- Price and what it covers
- The headline figure, its basis, whether tax is included, and what it excludes.
- Practitioner qualifications
- Named individuals, checked against a public register or a certificate where one exists.
- Cancellation terms
- The published terms, in writing.
- Accessibility claims
- Observed on site where we have visited. Otherwise recorded as provider-stated.
What we do not assess
- Service quality on any individual stay
- We cannot check an experience that has not happened yet, and one visit does not predict it.
- Whether a programme suits you
- That is a judgement about a person, not about a record. We do not make it, and we do not ask you for health information in order to try.
- Health outcomes
- We make no claim about what any programme achieves.
- Anything a provider has not told us
- Where a provider has not stated something, we show that it is missing rather than filling the gap.
How often
We re-check a record at least every six months, and whenever a price, a member of staff or an inclusion changes. Records past six months are marked as due for re-checking on the programme page. Records past a year are removed until they have been checked again.
