Goal

Metabolic health and nutrition

In most wellness stays food is accommodation: it arrives, and it is not part of the programme. In this category it is the programme — a set menu, a defined approach, or a consultation that shapes what is served for the week. That distinction matters commercially as well as practically, because full board and a structured food programme are priced similarly and are not the same thing.

Nothing in this category is dietetic or medical care, and no programme here treats a condition. If you have a dietary requirement tied to your health, speak to your own clinician. We do not assess suitability and we do not ask you for health information.

What varies between these programmes

Written by the Cartemont editorial team from the records we hold.

Where programmes differ

  • Whether a qualified person is involved at all, or the kitchen simply follows a fixed menu.
  • Whether the approach is explained in advance or described only on arrival.
  • How much choice there is, and whether restrictions can be accommodated.
  • Whether any consultation is included, and whether it is with a dietitian or a coach.
  • Whether anything continues after departure, which is rare.

What is worth comparing

  • Board basis first: full board, half board, or a defined food programme are three different products.
  • Who designed the menu and what they are qualified in.
  • Consultation count, and whether it is individual.
  • Whether dietary requirements are accommodated or simply noted.
  • What drinks, snacks and anything outside meal times cost.

Before you enquire

Commonly not included

  • Flights and travel insurance.
  • Alcoholic drinks, in almost every programme in this category.
  • Anything taken outside the stated meal times.
  • Supplements or products, where a programme uses them.

Questions worth asking a provider

  • Is this a food programme or simply full board?
  • Who designed it, and what are they qualified in?
  • How much choice do I have at each meal?
  • Can a dietary requirement be accommodated, and does it change the price?
  • What is charged on top once I arrive?
